About the Services

  • Blooming Rose Reiki offers Usui Reiki and energy work, one on one sound bath meditation using crystal quartz singing bowls and neurodivergent friendly spiritual coaching. All services are offered in person on Sundays in Toronto's Koreatown. Virtual coaching is also available during the week. For divination readings, mediumship and Akashic Record sessions visit akashicdaughter.com.

  • Blooming Rose Reiki is founded and led by Bridgette Sterling, a Usui Reiki Practitioner trained across all three levels and recognized by the Canadian Reiki Association, a Meditation Teacher on Insight Timer and a DEI consultant with nearly a decade of experience building inclusive, accessible spaces. Energy work and spiritual practice have been in Bridgette's family for generations. She brings a queer, neurodivergent and equity informed lens to every session, with the understanding that not every mind and body arrives at care the same way.

  • Reiki is a Japanese energy practice developed by Mikao Usui that works with the body's natural life force energy through gentle hands-on or hands-above techniques. It works subtly, supporting the nervous system, inviting deep relaxation and encouraging the body's own natural capacity to settle and restore. Reiki may support increased relaxation, deeper rest, improved emotional calm and mental clarity. It is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. Individual experiences vary and no specific outcomes are guaranteed. No prior experience or beliefs are required to benefit from it.

  • A sound bath is a one on one immersive experience using crystal quartz singing bowls played intuitively around your body. The resonant frequencies produced by the bowls work to naturally slow the mind and release physical tension, guiding you toward a deeply restful state without requiring any effort or prior meditation experience. It is particularly well suited for people who find traditional meditation difficult or who carry stress in the body. Nothing is required of you except to arrive and receive.

  • Spiritual coaching is a structured, neurodivergent friendly coaching conversation designed to help you translate personal insight into practical action. Sessions explore the patterns, beliefs and resistance points that may be getting in the way of meaningful change and develop a clear, realistic plan to address them. Spiritual coaching is not therapy, psychotherapy or medical treatment. Bridgette is not a licensed medical or mental health professional and her services do not replace professional care. If you are looking for a therapist, Bridgette would be happy to support you with a referral.

  • A complimentary 20 minute discovery call is the best place to start if you are not sure. Bridgette will walk you through each service, help you understand what might be most supportive for where you are right now and answer any questions you have. There is no obligation to book. You can also reach out directly at hello@bloomingrosereiki.com.

  • Yes. Reiki and spiritual coaching can be booked back to back in the same visit. Check the booking page for combined session options or reach out at hello@bloomingrosereiki.com to discuss what might work best for you.

  • This varies entirely depending on the individual and what they are working with. Some clients find a single session deeply supportive. Others prefer to work consistently over time and find the cumulative effect of regular sessions most valuable. There is no pressure to commit to a particular number. You are welcome to start with one session and see how it feels.

Preparing for your Session

  • Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and stay well hydrated before your session. Try to avoid scheduling anything mentally or physically demanding immediately afterward so you have space to integrate the experience. That said there is no perfect way to arrive. Come as you are

  • Every session begins with a collaborative intake conversation where Bridgette takes time to understand what calm and ease actually feel like for you, your relationship with touch, any sensory preferences and what you are hoping to receive from the session. Nothing is assumed and nothing begins until you feel ready. The intake is not a formality — it is the foundation the whole session is built on.

  • Absolutely. Sessions can be conducted entirely with hands held above the body for those who find touch activating, uncomfortable or simply prefer it that way. This is discussed during the intake and you are welcome to change your preference at any point during the session.

  • Sensory adaptations are always available and discussed during your intake. These include adjustments to scent — scentless options are available, sound — music can be adjusted or removed entirely, and lighting. If you have other sensory needs or preferences please share them when you book or at the start of your session and every effort will be made to accommodate them.

  • You are welcome to bring a support person to the appointment. Please let us know in advance so we can ensure the space is set up comfortably. The support person would wait in the reception area during the session unless a specific accommodation is needed, in which case please reach out to discuss.

Accessibility & Inclusion

  • Yes. Blooming Rose Reiki was built with neurodivergent clients specifically in mind. Sessions are fully consent driven with a thorough intake before anything begins to understand your sensory preferences, your relationship with touch and what calm and ease actually feel like for you. Sensory adaptations are always available including adjustments to scent, sound and lighting. Hands-above sessions are available for those who find touch activating. Every step is explained before it begins and your comfort is returned to throughout.

  • Yes. Blooming Rose Reiki is an explicitly queer affirming practice. Bridgette is a queer person herself and brings a genuine, lived understanding of what it means to navigate spaces that were not designed with you in mind. All bodies, identities and experiences are welcome here without question, explanation or qualification.

  • Yes. Sessions are grounded in a trauma informed, consent driven approach. Nothing begins without clear communication about what will happen and your explicit comfort with it. Touch is always optional and consent is returned to throughout rather than assumed once at the start. If there are specific things you would like Bridgette to be aware of before your session you are welcome to share them in the notes when booking or via email at hello@bloomingrosereiki.com which are stored on a confidential medical compliant software (Jane App). You are never required to share anything you are not comfortable sharing.

  • Consent driven care means that nothing is assumed and nothing happens without your awareness and agreement. Before the session begins Bridgette will walk you through exactly what will happen, discuss your preferences around touch, scent, sound and any other considerations and check in with you throughout. You are always free to pause, redirect or end the session at any time without explanation required. Your comfort is not a formality here — it is the foundation everything is built on.

  • Yes. Sliding scale pricing is offered for those from equity deserving communities or navigating financial hardship. There is no application process and no proof required. Simply reach out at hello@bloomingrosereiki.com before booking to start a confidential, pressure free conversation about what may be possible. If an arrangement cannot be found, Bridgette will do her best to point you toward other practitioners or resources that may be a better fit.

  • Most standard employer benefit plans do not currently cover Reiki, coaching or meditation services. However some Health Spending Accounts (HSA) through more progressive employers may include Reiki. It is worth checking directly with your benefits provider. If you require a receipt for submission purposes one can be provided upon request.

What to Expect in a Session

  • Experiences vary widely from person to person and session to session. Some people feel warmth, tingling or a sense of deep heaviness and relaxation. Some feel emotions arise. Some fall asleep. Some feel very little during the session and notice shifts afterward. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki and whatever arises is welcome. Bridgette will guide you through the experience and check in with you throughout.

  • Drink plenty of water, rest where possible and try to give yourself some quiet time to integrate the experience rather than rushing back into a demanding schedule. Some people feel deeply relaxed or emotional after a session — this is completely normal. Bridgette will share personalised aftercare guidance at the end of every session.

  • Yes, completely. Reiki works with the body's energy system and can sometimes bring emotions or sensations to the surface as part of the natural process of settling and releasing. This is not something to be concerned about. Bridgette holds space for whatever arises without judgment and will always check in with you if something significant comes up during a session or afterward as the Reiki settles.

  • Reiki may support stress and anxiety by working with the body's natural energy field to invite greater harmony, ease physical tension and encourage the nervous system toward deep rest. Many clients report feeling calmer, lighter and more grounded following sessions. Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. Individual experiences vary and no specific outcomes are guaranteed.

  • Sound bath meditation may support deep relaxation, nervous system ease, release of physical tension and a quieter mind. The resonant frequencies of crystal quartz singing bowls can naturally guide the brain toward slower, more restful states making it particularly accessible for people who find traditional meditation difficult. Individual experiences vary and no specific outcomes are guaranteed.

  • Look for registration with a recognized professional body such as the Canadian Reiki Association which requires practitioners to meet specific training and ethical standards. Consider whether the practitioner takes a consent driven, trauma informed approach, whether they explain what will happen before it begins and whether they make accommodations for different sensory needs and comfort levels. A complimentary discovery call is a good way to get a sense of whether a practitioner feels like the right fit before booking. The CRA maintains a directory of registered practitioners at reiki.ca.

A woman with short brown hair smiling while sitting at a desk with a newspaper in front of her. She has colorful tattoos on her arms, including a butterfly on her right arm and a red design on her left arm. She wears a white ruffled blouse and jewelry. A vase of pink and yellow tulips is on the desk, and decorative shelves with plants and artwork are on the wall behind her.

Bridgette understands that sometimes the cost of care can be the only barrier to accessing it and because of that for some folks, particularly those from equity deserving communities or those navigating financial hardship, the decision to invest in their wellbeing can come with real weight.

Sliding scale pricing is offered for those who need it. There is no application process, no proof required. If cost is the only barrier for you right now, simply send a message through the contact page before booking and share what may feel manageable, Bridgette will do her best to accommodate what is possible. The conversation is private, judgement free and met with the same care as everything else.

Wellbeing should not feel like an out of reach privilege or a passing trend. This practice is working toward making it a little more reachable for those for whom it has sometimes felt that way.

I have never had a Reiki session before I had one with Bri at Blooming Rose Reiki. I went in with 0 expectations & walked away with an immense sense of release. She made me feel so comfortable & led the session in a gentle & relaxing manner.
