Before anything begins, I’ll take the time to understand what calm actually feels like in your body, what language resonates with you and what your relationship with touch is. For those whose nervous system responds to touch with alarm, sessions can be conducted with hands above the body exclusively. I also accommodate any sensory preferences around scent, sound and lighting. Each step is explained before it begins so that the experience isn't something that happened to you, but co-created with you.
What Happens in a Session
During the session I work exclusively with traditional Usui Reiki techniques, hands placed or held above specific areas of the body, guided by intuition rather than a fixed protocol, weaving in breath and optional meditation guidance as the session calls for it. I don’t not scan for problems or work to ‘clear’ anything. I hold steady presence and allow Ki or universal life force to flow where it's drawn, trusting your body's own intelligence to lead. What clients often describe afterward is not that something was done to them, but that something in them finally had room to settle. Reiki can be supportive for those navigating burnout, emotional heaviness, a busy mind that rarely quiets. Overtime, we’ll map patterns from your first session to last.
Looking for something…?
Were you looking for something more along the lines of chakra balancing, energy field clearing, relational tie cuts, entity work or aura readings? These are often conflated with Reiki over the course of it’s migration to the West in particular during the 80s and 90s. Usui Reiki in it’s original form, doesn’t use the Yogic chakra system, Kundalini yoga energy bodies or pranic breath to facilitate energetic clearing nor does it leverage clarivoyance or ancestral patterns.
